Vol. 09 · Data deletion

Take it
back.

In short

You can ask us to delete your data at any time. We delete it within seven days, send you a confirmation, and that's that. No forms to print, no fight.

If you're a restaurant operator

You can delete most things yourself: menus, items, photos, guest records, staff accounts. Settings → Account → Export & delete. The export is a spreadsheet of everything we hold; the delete clears it from our active systems.

To close the entire account and have us wipe every trace, email privacy@dinemint.com from the address you signed up with. We confirm, send your export, and delete within seven days.

If you're a diner

A restaurant may hold your phone number, email, or order history because you placed an order or made a reservation through Dinemint. The restaurant owns that record, but you can ask either of us to delete it.

Ask the restaurant directly, or email us at privacy@dinemint.com with the restaurant's name and the phone number or email tied to your record. We confirm with the restaurant and remove your data within seven days.

WhatsApp and Instagram data

If a restaurant connected its WhatsApp or Instagram account to Dinemint and you interacted with them through those channels, that data lives in three places: with the restaurant (their inbox), with us (the conversation log used to fulfill the message), and with Meta (the source of the data).

We can delete our copy on request — email privacy@dinemint.com with the WhatsApp number or Instagram handle you used and which restaurant the conversation was with. To delete the copy held by the restaurant, contact the restaurant. To delete the copy held by Meta, contact Meta directly through their support flow.

What we keep, and why

We do keep a slim record after deletion: enough to prove the deletion happened, to honour any tax or accounting law that applies to a transaction, and to defend ourselves if a dispute opens later. That record holds your email and the dates we acted on — nothing more.

Timeline

We acknowledge every request within two business days. The actual delete lands within seven calendar days. Backups roll off within thirty days after that — they exist for disaster recovery and aren't accessible to anyone unless we restore them, which we won't.

Disagreements

If we delete something we shouldn't have, or refuse to delete something you think we should, write to our grievance officer at grievance@dinemint.com. Email and you'll hear back within seven days.
